Doodles & Disco

Doodles and Disco Go on a Hike

“Did you hear that?” Doodles stops on the trail, his eyes wide.

Disco stops, too, listening. “Probably a squirrel.”

Doodles shifts his weight, eyes darting toward the brush. “Something bigger.”

“An elephant?”

“Probably! We should go back.”

Disco suppresses a giggle. “How about we hike for a little bit longer?” she asks, reassuringly. “If we run into an elephant, I’ll ask her why she’s so far from home. Maybe she has a good story to tell us.” Patting his arm, she adds, “You like good stories, Doodles.”

“Not when an elephant is the one telling it,” sighs Doodles.
